Will The Joker Make An Appearance In ‘The Batman – Part II’? Here’s What We Know

After the Joker’s brief debut in 2022’s The Batman, fans are speculating whether he will return for the sequel. Barry Keoghan, who portrayed the Joker, addressed this question during an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast. When asked about reprising the role, he said, “It’s a big one, but I am going to say that, if the opportunity came about, yes, I’d love to explore, and given the opportunity, really dive into it. But I have not been contacted, I’ve not heard anything.”

With this in mind, many are wondering if the Joker will appear in The Batman – Part II at all. It’s possible the sequel will focus on the Penguin instead, as Colin Farrell’s portrayal of the character has been confirmed to return. Alternatively, the film could introduce another primary villain.

Series writer and director Matt Reeves has previously stated that if he were to include the Joker in a film, he would want to do so in a way that hasn’t been explored in other live-action adaptations. This creative approach may present additional challenges.

While Keoghan has not yet been approached about returning as the Joker, there’s always a chance that plans could change. For now, fans will have to wait and see.
