Will Ferrell is bringing Eurovision to Netflix in a new comedy in which he will both star and co-write.
The film, appropriately named Eurovision, will be based on the world-wide singing and song-writing contest. Beginning in post World War II Europe, it is the longest running international song competition. Every year, participating countries send a song and a performer to the stage where they will represent and perform for their country, and, once everyone has gone, voters in official juries decide which country is the winner.
Ferrell co-wrote this story alongside fellow Saturday Night Live alum, Andrew Steele. He will also be producing with Jessica Elbaum for Gary Sanchez productions, and Adam McKay will executive produce.
Most recently, Ferrell helped to produce the Netflix film Ibiza.
