Wesley Snipes took two Guinness World Records announced this week for his return to the role of Blade in the Deadpool & Wolverine Cameo.

According to Deadline reporting Snipes originally played the character in 1998 in his first solo movie. This 26-year difference in appearances gives him the title for the Longest Career as a Live-Action Marvel Character, beating out Hugh Jackman and his Wolverine role.

The other record was broken when Snipes broke Alfred Molina’s record for the Longest Gap Between Character Appearances in Marvel Films set by Molina’s return as Doctor Octopus in Spider-man: No Way Home (2021)Seventeen years after his original debut of the character in Spider-man 2 (2004). Snipes last played Blade in Blade: Trinity (2004), putting the new record just over 19 years according to Deadline.

“I didn’t think he would be able to pull it off,” Snipes told Entertainment Weekly in response to the cameo. “I didn’t think that Marvel was into it. Disney was into it. And also because they had Mahershala [Ali], you know, cast for the next upcoming version of it. So, it didn’t make sense to me.”

According to Deadline, Marvel has confirmed a Blade reboot, but the project has faced several delays and is currently scheduled for a Nov. 7 2025 premiere.
