The new trailer for the highly-anticipated Netflix film The King has finally been released week ahead of its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival. The King stars Academy Award-nominated Timothée Chalamet as King Henry V, who must find a way to weave through the political deception that lurks in the palace and take the English throne after his father’s death.
The trailer features Chalamet as Henry V, donning a British accent and asking for people he can trust among a group of subjects that he fears aren’t completely loyal to the crown. This is then followed by a montage of character moments and scenes hinting that hint at a battle between Henry and ulterior forces that threaten his rule and the crown.

The film’s cast also stars Joel Edgerton, Robert Pattinson, Sean Harris, and Lily-Rose Depp. The King was directed by David Michôd, who came up with the film’s concept with Joel Edgerton from an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s plays ‘Henry IV, Parts 1 & 2’ and ‘Henry V.’ Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, and Liz Watts served as producers.
The King will begin streaming on Netflix and release in select theaters on an unannounced date this fall.
