Just in time for Halloween, Hulu is releasing its trailer for Wounds, a thriller written and directed by Babak Anvari. The film is based on a book by Nathan Ballingrud titled The Visible Filth and was produced by Annapurna Pictures. Just a quick warning: If you you have a fear of bugs, turn back now because this film is swarming with them. The trailer invites you into a dark web of startling images. One quick shot shows Armie Hammer‘s head from behind seemingly crack while another shows something coming out of a hole in his armpit.
Check out the chilling trailer below. And remember: enter at your own risk.
Hulu gives us this as the description for the film: “Disturbing and mysterious things begin happening to a New Orleans bartender after he picks up a phone left behind in his bar.” The bartender is none other than Armie Hammer, famous for his critically acclaimed roles in The Social Network and Call Me By Your Name, in which he starred alongside Timothée Chalamet. Dakota Johnson, star of the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy and in this year’s The Peanut Butter Falcon, plays Hammer’s significant other while Zazie Beetz, best known for her performance Domino in Deadpool 2 and upcoming role in Joker, plays someone who seems to be getting close to Hammer’s character in the trailer.
Wounds premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on January 26 and will be released on Hulu October 18.
