In The Road Within, written and directed by Gren Wells, three psychologically troubled twenty-somethings break out of their treatment center to embark on a road trip. Based on the 2010 German film Vincent Wants to Sea, The Road Within stars Robert Sheehan (Season of the Witch) as Vincent, who enters the center after the death of his mother to treat his Tourette’s syndrome under the care of Dr. Rose (Kyra Sedgwick, Time Out of Mind). There, he establishes a connection with Alex (Dev Patel, Chappie), who suffers from OCD, and Marie (Zoë Kravitz, Insurgent), who is battling anorexia. During their three days on the road, the new friends are able to let loose and learn what it feels like to live life on their own terms.
Prior to The Road Within, Wells wrote the script for the romantic comedy A Little Bit of Heaven (2011), directed by Nicole Kassell, and starring Kate Hudson and Gael García Bernal. The Road Within will be released on VOD on March 17 and in theaters on April 17, 2015. Check out the trailer below.
