Watch Omar Sy and Charlotte Gainsbourg in the Trailer for the Immigration Drama ‘Samba’

Broad Green Pictures has released trailer for the new immigration drama Samba from directing duo Oliver Nakache and Eric Toledano (The Intouchables), starring Omar Sy (Jurassic World) and Charlotte Gainsbourg (Nymphomaniac). The movie follows Samba (Sy), an immigrant from Senegal who has illegally moved to France. After struggling to find a well-paying job, he enlists Alice (Gainsbourg), a social worker, to help him get his working papers so he can earn more money to send to his family.

While Sy has slowly made his way into the mainstream with roles in Jurassic World and X-Men: Days of Future Past – and will next be seen and in the adaptation of Dan Brown’s Inferno – he first drew notice from U.S. audience for his performance in Nakache and Toledano’s The Intouchables. Samba is the first movie from either Nakache and Toledano since The Intouchables. Gainsbourg has starred in handful of French films after 2013’s Nymphomaniac. She’s will be seen in next year’s Every Thing Will Be Fine and the political thriller Oppenheimer Strategies. She will also play Dr. Catherine Marceaux in Independence Day 2.

Samba‘s release is right around the corner, as it is set to start playing in limited theaters July 24. The movie played at the Toronto International Film Festival, where it was met with generally positive reviews.
