Warning: Phase 4 MCU Titles May Contain Spoilers

Year after year, Marvel’s head Kevin Feige takes the stage and lays out timeline of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and what we can expect in the future. Well, that’s all changed now in regards to the upcoming titles in the next phase of the MCU, Phase Four. The titles will remain a secret simply because of the titles themselves, once revealed, are believed to be spoilers. As much as we want to see where they plan on taking our beloved characters, in the end, the fact remains the same, the titles are too revealing. As a reminder to ourselves, too much of a good thing can be a bad thing. Let’s not spoil a Universe over a title.

Feige told the Toronto Sun when discussing the films that will extend past Avengers 4 in 2019, he said:

Where we go after Avengers 4; what those 2020 films are, we’re pretty sure what those are going to be… but if I tell you that, we’re getting into spoilers.

The possibilities are endless when you think about future threats and the new characters Marvel could introduce, or even kill. Little by little Marvel has built a narrative for these characters to exist in, whether it be in their own film or a cameo in another MCU film this is a formula Marvel has figured out- So let’s take the time to appreciate the studio looking out for spoilers.

We are at the point where a lot of the character’s origin stories are completed or no longer need a solo film of their own to define who they are in the MCU. This has been a plan of Marvel’s the entire time and you can expect these characters to start showing up in a lot of each other’s films.

Feige continued:

But it wasn’t until after the first Avengers in 2012 that we started to chart out what the stories would be for the characters that we already introduced and what new characters we’d want to introduce and Strange was always part of that.

The Avengers was a monumental success and the trend will surely follow as Marvel continues to pave the way for the superhero genre. Their flexibility within their own universe is something to appreciate, with additions like Spider-Man: Homecoming and Ant-Man and the Wasp.
