Netflix is readying its next film as an untitled ensemble action-adventure comedy starring Hollywood funnyman Vince Vaughn. Vaughn will be one of the film’s three leads ,according to an article by Deadline.
While details about the film’s plot are currently buried by the studio for the time being, Netflix representatives described the film as a cross between City Slickers and Old School, which were created fittingly for Vaughn and several other comic actors in the early 2000’s. The film’s writing will be handled by veteran Anders Holm, whose creative fingerprints can be found over Workaholics and Game Over Man! as a producer and an actor.
Vaughn is currently coming off the heels of Craig Zahler’s Dragged Across Concrete alongside Mel Gibson, and he also made an appearance in Stephen Merchant’s Fighting With My Family across from Dwayne Johnson, who recently ended his run on the HBO sports dramedy Ballers. Ballers ended after five seasons on HBO and ran from 2015 to 2019. Vaughn also maintained a supporting role in the Hulu independent comedy The Binge and will have an upcoming role in the Amazon premier of Seberg this December. Vaughn is set to star in a Chris Landon-directed film distributed by Blumhouse, which has been described as a body swapping thriller.
