If all goes well, Vin Diesel will be reunited with Fast and Furious producer Neil Moritz who will work along side Dinesh Shamdasani in Valiant Entertainment’s superhero series Bloodshot. TheWrap first reported the news.
Dave Wilson (Deadpool director Tim Miller’s partner at Blur Studios) is set to direct, and Oscar-nominated screenwriter Eric Heisserer (Arrival) will write the screenplay. Bloodshot will tell the story of a mortally wounded soldier who comes back from the brink of death with new cyborg-like abilities and weaponry. He is set out to round up similarly super-powered outcasts, which in the comics are called harbingers.
Valiant comics is the third largest comic-book library behind Marvel and DC, and is the only one to not already be owned by a major studio conglomerate. For this reason, many characters like Bloodshot have yet to come out of the woodwork and portend future potential for the comic-book company.
Diesel has starred in XXX and Pitch Black as well as the Fast and the Furious series. Sony plans on releasing the superhero franchise in 2019.
