An Instagram post from Vin Diesel revealed that Zack Dean is at work writing Fast XI and the next installment of the beloved Fast and Furious franchise has moved into preproduction. Zack Dean helped write Fast X and promised a resolution to the cliffhanger the last film left fans on according to Comicbook. The film is scheduled to be released on April 4, 2025, but there remains a strong possibility that that date could be pushed back as the script is incomplete and the task of filming this type of film is not easy. Despite this, Diesel remained optimistic and encouraged about the project’s progress.
The next installment is being directed by Louis Leterrier, one of many things to be carried over from the franchise’s last installment. Diesel asked fans to be patient, according to ComicBook, and that patience would be rewarded with something very “powerful.”
“Just finished our end of the week Fast meeting with the writers and the whole team… to say the excitement for our finale was incredibly powerful is an understatement,” Diesel’s post reads. “Thank you for being the backbone of this global saga that because of you, transcends the screen. This grand finale is not just an ending; it’s a celebration of the incredible family we’ve built together. Hope to make you proud!”
