Oscar and Emmy nominated actress Vera Famiga, from The Conjuring, has signed onto the Godzilla sequel, completing the family dynamic with Kyle Chandler, from monster movies such as Super 8 and King Kong, as the father and Millie Bobby Brown, from Stranger Things, as the daughter, says The Hollywood Reporter.
The Legendary and Warner Bros. production will be directed by Michael Dougherty, who wrote the script along with Zach Shields, and will be the sequel to the 2014 Godzilla reboot.
Little is known about the plot, as most of the details are being kept under lock and key, but Chandler is the hero of the film, and will play a scientist. The film is set to be released on March 22, 2019 with he title Godzilla: King of Monsters, so there is plenty of time for more details to be released.
Until then audiences can catch Vera Farmiga in Liongate’s new thriller The Commuter alongside Liam Neeson, set to release on January 12, 2018.
