Unofficial Image From ‘Frozen 2’ Surfaces

With Pixar and Disney Animation making 2018 sequels to The Incredibles and Wreck-It Ralph (respectively), both companies are once again attempting the sequel game in 2019. Only where the sequels from 2018 were highly requested from audiences, audiences in 2019 will be going in with skepticism regarding Toy Story 4 and Frozen 2Despite both franchises being some of the most successful animated properties of all time, fans are unsure if these series need to continue due to their previous films ending on a satisfying note.

Regardless of whether or not they should be made, Disney and Pixar are definitely putting out both sequels in 2019. While, there have been official trailers released for Toy Story 4, nothing has been released with regard to Frozen 2 as of yet. However, on Instagram it looks like the first known image of Frozen 2 has been posted by a user named chocolatiey. The image consists of Anna and Elsa wearing new outfits that feature a colorful fall aesthetic.

It would be easy to shrug off the image as fake considering this is an unofficially released image; however, given the source of the picture in question, there is more validity to the photo than one would expect. The image is from a Russian calendar that was made to promote the various films Disney will release in 2019. A calendar was made for 2018 featuring images of Solo: A Star Wars Story, and this image of Anna and Elsa looks almost exactly like most of the typical promotional images used for that calendar. Therefore, even if this is still not quite an official image from Disney, it could be a good hint to how the movie will possibly be marketed and how it will look as a whole.

Little is known about the Frozen sequel outside of casting news and interviews reassuring fans that there is a good story in place for Anna and Elsa. Kristen Bell mentioned in a recent interview that the film will have new themes, new characters, and will expand upon the beloved characters of the first film. Frozen 2 is scheduled to release on November 22, 2019.

Ryan Pineda: When it comes to film, animation, video games and other mediums, I can discuss for hours about how much on why certain films and animated media made me the person I am today. I adore the artistic merit that comes from a lot of pop-culture media and will definitely love to have a conversation about favorite movies any day! I have graduated in 2017 with a BA in Film and Television at the University of Arizona. Been passionate about writing about films due to always having an interesting outlook on the medium. Will always see a film and will definitely be sure to recommend it to someone that I know for a fact would love that movie. Not only that but will also give reasons for why I think that film did or did not work as a movie, and the same can go for other pieces of media like television, video games and especially animated projects.
