Borrowing a page from Marvel’s Avengers universe, Universal has slotted its upcoming project reviving their classic stable of monsters for an April 21, 2017 release.The yet-untitled film in what the studio hopes will become a franchise will be produced by Alex Kurtzman (Star Trek) and Chris Morgan (Fast and Furious). It is expected to feature such iconic monsters as Dracula, the Wolf Man, Frankenstein, the Mummy, the Invisible Man and Bride of Frankenstein in a modern retelling of Universal’s famed monster universe.
The film will be the second in the studio’s planned action-adventure series and will be a follow up to their reboot of The Mummy, directed by Kurtzman. The Mummy is set to premier June 24, 2016.
