Tyler Perry and Netflix have joined forces on a new project for the streaming service. The longtime award-winning writer, producer and director will be issuing a thriller surrounding a woman who’s life is embroiled by secrets, according Deadline. Perry took the news of his project to Twitter on Friday with a name already confirmed- A Fall From Grace– which will be ready for streaming come January 17th 2020. Perry even gave fans a teaser as what’s yet to come, with a poster captioned with a cast including Phylicia Rashad, Crystal Fox, Bresha Webb, Cicely Tyson and Perry himself.
According to Netflix’s Strong Black Lead account, Perry’s thriller will be “centered around a divorced woman who feels restored by a new romance, secrets soon start to erode her short-lived joy.” The poster hinted at additional castings that would be announced in the near future and included Mehcad Brooks of Supergirl and The Game as a tag in the tweet.
Perry is currently the hardest working man in Hollywood. Not long ago, it was announced that Perry would be involved with Nickelodeon on a new children and family live-action series surrounding a young rapper named Young Dylan. Perry’s series is part of an enormous deal with Viacom, in which he produces original content for BET and other Viacom subsidiaries. Two upcoming projects from Perry include The Oval and Sistas.
