‘Twisters’ Sets Premiere Date On Peacock

After pulling in over $370 million at the worldwide box office, Universal Pictures’ Twisters will stream exclusively on Peacock starting November 15.

Marking the sequel to Jan de Bont’s classic 1996 disaster pic, TwisterTwisters brought together Minari director Lee Isaac Chung with beloved stars Daisy Edgar-Jones, known for Where The Crawdads Sing, and Glen Powell, known for Anyone But You.

The story follows Kate (Edgar-Jones), who has given up chasing storms across the Oklahoma prairie since a devastating tornado encounter. Instead, she studies them safely on screens in New York City. Lured back to the field by her friend Javi (Anthony Ramos) and a once-in-a-lifetime scientific opportunity, Kate crosses paths with Tyler (Powell), a charming daredevil and self-proclaimed tornado wrangler whose thirst for tornado-tracking adventures made him a social media sensation. As storm season intensifies with terrifying phenomena unlike anything they’ve seen before, Kate and Tyler realize they may need to work together if they have any chance of taming, and surviving, an unprecedented outbreak of destructive tornados.

Executive-produced by Steven Spielberg, Thomas Hayslip and Ashley Jay Sandberg, the cast also includes Brandon Perea, David Corenswet, Maura Tierney, Sasha Lane and more. Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley served as producers. Mark L. Smith’s script was based on a story by Top Gun: Maverick‘s Joseph Kosinski, which was itself based on characters created by Michael Crichton & Anne-Marie Martin. The film hit theaters via Universal on July 19.
