

As the 24th Annual Tribeca Film Festival prepares to wrap on June 15th, the winners of the U.S. Narrative, International Narrative, and Documentary competitions have begun to be announced.
Charliebird follows a music therapist who begins working with a new patient while confronting her past. It’s the feature writing debut for screenwriter Samantha Smart and the feature directing debut for director Libby Ewing. The film received two awards at the Tribeca Film Festival, winning Best U.S. Narrative Feature and Best Performance in a U.S Narrative Feature for actress Gabriela Ochoa Perez.
Happy Birthday is an Arabic drama about an eight-year-old child maid who begins bonding with her employer’s daughter. It is the feature debut of director Sarah Goher. The film won three awards at the Tribeca Film Festival, all of which went to Goer: Best International Narrative Feature, Best Screenplay in an International Narrative Feature, and the Noah Ephron Award, which recognizes the work of female filmmakers.
Natchez is a documentary that explores the history of the American South within a small town in Mississippi. It is director Suzannah Herbert’s second documentary feature. The film won Best Documentary Feature at the Tribeca Film Festival’s Documentary competition and two special jury prizes for cinematography and editing.
