Trailer Released for ‘Supremacy’

The trailer for the new thriller called Supremacy features a just-paroled white supremacist as he leaves the prison he was released from and ends up at the house of an African-American family, where he takes them hostage. Danny Glover (Saw) stars as the family’s patriarch and Joe Anderson (Hercules) plays Tully, the third-in-command of the Aryan Brotherhood. The whole movie was inspired by true events.

Screened at the Los Angeles Film Festival and the Pan African Film Festival, the movie aims to show the power struggle both between the two races and within the penal system, while also showcasing the struggle Tully faces to still be accepted by his gang. Tully is released and immediately goes on a crime spree, starting with a hold-up and then leading to the murder of an African-American cop, all the time believing that he is starting Armageddon. Then his gang leader named Sobeki, played by Anson Mount (Non-Stop) – who is undertaking an underground criminal enterprise – cuts Tully off because his crimes have attracted attention to their enterprise. The hostage situation begins to spiral downward from there.

The movie stars – alongside Glover, Mount, and Anderson – Dawn Olivieri (American Hustle), Derek Luke (Antwone Fisher), Evan Ross (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay), and Lela Rochon (Any Given Sunday), and was directed by Deon Taylor (Chain Letter). It will be released in theaters and on video-on-demand on January 30, 2015.
