Sony Pictures Entertainment released the official trailer for the upcoming horror movie, Tarot. The film stars Harriet Slater, Adain Bradley, Avantika, and Spider-Man: No Way Home’s Jacob Batalon. It is based off the 1992 novel, Horrorscope, by Nicholas Adams. Spenser Cohen and Anna Halberg worked together to adapt the script and direct the film.
Based on the synopsis of the novel, the story “follows a group of college friends who start dying in ways that are related to their fortunes after having their horoscopes read. Before their time runs out, they have to work together to uncover the mystery.”
The film was originally set to share a name with its source material, but was later changed. Tarot seems more fitting according to the IMDB summary of the movie: “When a group of friends recklessly violates the sacred rule of Tarot readings they unknowingly unleash an unspeakable evil trapped within the cursed cards. One by one, they come face to face with fate and end up in a race against death.”
Scott Glassgold, Leslie Morgenstein, and Elysa Koplovitz Dutton produced the film through Alloy Entertainment. Halberg, Cohen, and Screen Gems are listed as executive producers.
Tarot is set to be released in theaters on May 10.
