Tom Holland our friendly neighborhood crime-fighting superhero continues to have a flawless career on the big screen. While he does a fantastic job wearing the spidery suit and slinging into action to do battle with Doc Ock or the Green Goblin, he’s never been shy to break away from social media, breaking away from social media in the past. Holland once took a break from social media for a short period.
As he has done in the past, he’s announced on Instagram that he is stepping away from social media. The Marvel star plans to delete his Twitter account with his Instagram account on his phone, Holland cited his mental health as the reason for his hiatus.
“I find Instagram and Twitter to be overstimulating, to be overwhelming. I get caught up and I spiral when I read things about me online and ultimately it’s very detrimental to my mental state.”
Holland took the time to speak about the apps that are helpful for the charity stem4, a foundation that works with his The Brothers Trust organization. In his video spoke about the four different apps to explain how each group helps to support each other.
“Hi guys, so I’ve been trying to make this do an hour now, and for someone that has spent the last 13, 14 years, however long I’ve been acting, I cannot seem to say what I need to say without ‘umming’ and ‘arring’ every five minutes. So I’m going to try again. So I have taken a break social media for my mental health, because I find Instagram and Twitter to be overstimulating, to be overwhelming. I get caught up and I spiral when I read things about me online and ultimately it’s very detrimental to my mental state. So I decided to take a step back and delete the app.”
