Tom Holland And Mark Wahlberg-Led Video Game Adaptation ‘Uncharted’ Climbs To Top of Max’s Streaming Charts

The adaptation of the globetrotting adventure game franchise, Uncharted, seems to have found treasure once more, as the 2022 film has risen to the top of Max’s streaming charts, MovieWeb reports.

Starring Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg, Uncharted follows younger versions of the series’ protagonists, Nathan Drake and Victor “Sully” Sullivan, during their first meeting and adventure together to find a lost Spanish treasure. Despite being released to a mixed reception from critics and fans of the series, it would go on to gross over $400 million at the box office. Now, it has recently climbed into the Top Ten Movies list on the Warner Bros.-owned streaming service, per Flix Patrol.

With its continued success, an announcement of a sequel has come as no surprise, with occasional updates being given. Mark Wahlberg noted in an interview with The Direct: “I’ve heard lots of different ideas. I know somebody’s written script, and they’re still working on it….” The sequel’s production may depend on Tom Holland’s busy schedule, however, which producer Charles Roven has confirmed. Holland will soon begin work on Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of the mythological epic, The Odyssey, followed by a fourth Spider-Man movie at Marvel, now helmed by Destin Daniel Cretton, so it may be several years before an Uncharted 2 appears in theaters.

No release date has been announced as of this writing.
