Timothée Chalamet has secured his first win in this awards season, winning the award for best actor at the 2026 Critics’ Choice Awards.
The actor won for his performance as the titular character Marty Mauser of Marty Supreme. When his name was announced, he looked surprised before leaning over to kiss his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner.
Chalamet took a moment to honor the other nominees in his category, specifically shouting out Michael B. Jordan’s performance in Sinners. “Michael, man, unbelievable. Just rewatched Sinners. [I] hadn’t seen the after-credit scene. I’m happy I stuck around the second time.”
“I got a lot of people to thank. I don’t know if I’ll be up here again, so give me a second,” Chalamet continued. He thanked a list of people, including Marty Supreme director Josh Safdie, for “crafting a role and a story” for him. “You made a story about the relatable dream and you didn’t preach to the audience about what’s right and wrong. I think you should all be telling stories like that, so thank you for this dream,” he said.
Chalamet ended his speech by thanking Jenner, saying, “Thank you to my partner of three years. Thank you for our foundation,” he said. “I love you. I couldn’t do this without you.”
The 31st Critics’ Choice Awards ceremony aired live from Santa Monica’s Barker Hangar on E! and USA Network. Click here to see all of the film winners of the night.
