The Oscar nominations were revealed early in the morning on Thursday, January 23rd. With them came a lot of buzz. One of the more notable developments was the milestone achieved by young actor Timothée Chalamet. With his Best Actor nomination, he is now the youngest two-time Best Actor nominee since James Dean.
Chalamet earned this nomination for his performance in A Complete Unknown, in which he played Bob Dylan. His previous nomination was for his work in Call Me By Your Name.
Chalamet will soon be hosting SNL, and he will also be performing as a musical guest. In a promotional video for the episode, Chalamet seems to have recruited a group of lookalikes to stand in for some of the tasks on his busy schedule. “You know, I’m having to be SNL host and musical guest in the same week, so it’s a lot of work and I want to focus on the songs,” Chalamet said in the promotional video.
With so much happening for Chalamet right now, fans are surely excited for him. Many will be rooting for his success when the Oscars roll around, but as evidenced by his upcoming appearance on SNL, we won’t have to wait long for more Chalamet.
