On Monday, a new trailer dropped for Predator: Killer of Killers, the new animated entry in the Predator franchise. The film is an anthology that follows characters from three distinct eras: a Viking raider, a ninja in feudal Japan, and an American WWII pilot, all of whom go up against a Predator. The new trailer provides a glimpse at each of these three stories. The trailer also gives a good look at the film’s distinct animation, which appears to be a stylized CG style akin to recent animated TV shows and movies like the League of Legends series Arcane, Kid Cudi’s animated rom-com Entergalactic, and the animated Spider-Man movies Into the Spider-verse and Across the Spider-verse.
The film is one of two Predator movies releasing this year, with Predator: Badlands releasing in theaters later this year. Both Killer of Killers and Badlands are directed by Dan Trachtenberg, who previously directed the 18th-century-set Predator movie Prey, which was released on Hulu in 2022. Killer of Killers is co-directed by first-time co-director Joshua Wassung, whose previous work includes extensive visual effects work on multiple Marvel movies and films like Cloverfield, Ready Player One, and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.
The trailer for Predator: Killer of Killers can be viewed below. It will be released exclusively on Hulu and Disney Plus on June 6th.
