A new satirical comedy on Netflix, They Cloned Tyrone, has released an official trailer. The film stars Jamie Foxx (Oscar winner), John Boyega (Golden Globes winner), and Teyonah Parris (Golden Globes winner). The three award winners are also featured in the first official posters.
The main cast and characters of the film are Foxx as Slick Charles, Parris as Yo-Yo, Boyega as Fontaine, and Tyler Antonius as Tyrone. The featured cast is James Moses Black, David Alan Grier, J. Alphonse Nicholson, Kiefer Sutherland, and Joshua Mikel.
The movie is co-written by Tony Rettenmaier and directed by Juel Taylor. Taylor also has credits in Creed II, Young. Wild. Free., and Shooting Stars. The film’s producers include Foxx, Datari Turner, Charles D. King, and Stephen “Dr.” Love. Executive producers are Mark R. Wright, Jack Murray, Dana Sano, Monte Lipman, Federal Films, and Kim Roth. Co-executive producers are Poppy Hanks and James Lopez.
The official logline for the science-fiction mystery film is, “A series of eerie events thrusts an unlikely trio (Boyega, Parris, and Fox) onto the trail of a nefarious government conspiracy in this pulpy mystery caper.”
The film is set for release on July 21 on Netflix. They Cloned Tyrone will debut at the American Black Film Festival on June 14. According to Boyega’s Instagram, production wrapped in April 2021.
