This intense trailer tells the story of five people affected by a poisonous chemical, and how it utterly and completely changes their lives. Though viewers wouldn’t guess that much with all of the flawless action scenes and beautiful scenery, the trailer does evoke a sense of dread that can’t be denied. I features huge talent out of India, from S. Shankar to Chiyaan Vikram and Amy Jackson.
The film’s summary is simply: “A model, a doctor, and three other people are affected by a poisonous chemical.” Viewers can assume that the cloaked, deformed man is one of these affected ones, but this very realistic plot spirals out into hallucinogenic scenes and a pantheon of demonic characters, not to mention science fiction elements that include transforming motorbikes and action scenes that would seem at home in suspense thrillers. Altogether the movie looks to be a wild ride, starring Chiyaan Vikram (Anniyan) and Amy Jackson (Madras Town) alongside Upen Patel (Namastey London) and Suresh Gopi (Oru Vaddakan Veeragatha).
S. Shankar is the film’s director as well as its writer, and the movie is produced by Aascar Film. The movie is set in the Tamil language and is set for release in India on January 9, 2015. It also has plans for international release – which will hopefully include the U.S. – under the name Shankar’s I, though dates have not been set in stone.
