Osgood Perkins is gearing up for a new project and is already rounding out the cast. Nico Parker and Lola Tung have been added to the cast for the new flick, dubbed The Young People.
Osgood Perkins, son of horror legend Anthony Perkins, has already cemented himself as a big name in the genre as of late. His biggest claim to fame was directing 2024’s Longlegs, which debuted to great critical acclaim and financial success. He would go on to release The Monkey earlier this year, based on a Stephen King story, and has a new film, Keeper, set to come out later this year.
Hollywood Reporter notes that very little has been released about the film in terms of plot details. However, it has been revealed that this film is part of a special new deal between Perkins and distribution company Neon. Neon is helping to finance the film and is even helping with stateside distribution, while using the Toronto International Film Festival to get the project distributed internationally.
Both talents now attached to the project already sport a fairly boisterous career. With a few film credits to her name, Tung is more well-versed in the realm of television. She’s had a headlining role in all three seasons of Prime Video’s The Summer I Turned Pretty.
Parker, on the other hand, sports a more substantial resume when it comes specifically to the big screen. She’s appeared in both Dumbo and Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy, but most notably had a starring role in this year’s How To Train Your Dragon as one of the main characters, Astrid.
