Dreamworks Animation has decided to release their latest feature film The Wild Robot digitally after only a 19 day run in theaters.
The box office for The Wild Robot has surpassed $150 million and this past weekend it became the #2 film at the U.S. box office. That is why it comes at a surprise that Dreamworks Animation will be digitally releasing so soon. Compared to their other animations this year such as Kung Fu Panda 4, digital release did not occur until several weeks after theatrical release.
The certified fresh film, standing at 98% rotten tomatoes, has become a phenomenon and is getting a lot of award buzz. It is now available to rent and buy via numerous platforms such as Apple TV, Comcast Xfinity, Fandango at Home, Prime Video, Cox Microsoft & TV, and Movies Anywhere. The Wild Robot will become available for physical purchase on December 3.
Some of the digital parties will offer bonus content with the purchase of the film from their platforms. It will include extra scenes with the characters, behind the scenes with the filmmakers, or getting to meet the cast of the movie.
You can preorder the physical release in 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD from Amazon, Target, Walmart, or Gruv.
