Brace yourself for Quentin Tarantino’s Hateful Eight, which now has an epic new poster. His previous film, also a western, Django Unchained (2012), won two Oscars (Best Original Screenplay for Tarantino and Best Supporting Actor for Christoph Waltz). Hateful Eight is about the resulting tension a group of stagecoach passengers face after a blizzard traps them together.
The iconic poster image will officially premiere in the next issue of Empire magazine. In case you weren’t counting, the poster verifies that this will be Tarantino’s eighth film. His most renowned film is Pulp Fiction (1994), for which he also received the Best Original Screenplay Oscar. Following in the footsteps of Paul Thomas Anderson on last year’s The Master, Tarantino will shoot the film in 70-millimeter Super CinemaScope.
If you’ll recall, Hateful Eight was originally canceled after Tarantino became enraged over a script leak, but is now back on and heading toward production. Apparently Tarantino has written multiple drafts since the version that was leaked.
The cast will include many highly acclaimed actors who have worked with Tarantino previously. Among them will be Bruce Dern, James Remar, Amber Tamblyn, and Walton Goggins – all of whom appeared in Django Unchained – as well as Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction), Michael Madsen (Kill Bill: Vol. 1), Kurt Russell, and Zoe Bell (Inglourious Basterds).
It was confirmed this past weekend at Comic-Con that the movie will be released in late 2015.
