While film festivals have started to begin to circulate through the industry, one film that’s been making the rounds is The Order. Justin Kurzel is responsible for bringing the film to audiences.
As the film has been gaining screenings across different locations, one of them saw the main lead, Jude Law, speak about the film, and even about its reflection on the current state of the world.
Noting a “timely nature” to the script, Law himself mentioned at a SAG-AFTRA screening that the story of the film is one that is relevant to the climate of the world, which, paired with Kurzel’s direction, lent itself to upgrading the story’s own thriller elements.
The film itself sees an FBI agent get locked into conflict with a rising domestic terrorist as crime rates begin an alarmingly steady uptick. Law stars in the main role, alongside Nicholas Hoult and Tye Sheridan.
Hollywood Reporter noted that Hoult added onto Law’s explanation of how Kurzel’s direction impacted the final product on screen.
Since Hoult plays the direct antagonist of Law’s character on screen, Kurzel made the choice to separate the two actors on set as much as possible. Hoult remarked that this led to an increase of energy for both himself and the crew, saying that the crew enjoyed separating the two while it helped him to enjoy the experience both on and off camera.
The Order hits theaters on December 6th.
