Per Deadline, The Nightingale will be releasing soon after a delayed premiere due to COVID. The film will officially be released March 19, 2027. The film was originally supposed to premiere on February 12, 2027, but the date was moved to further profit off Easter Weekend and avoid competition with Narnia, directed by Greta Gerwig (Little Women, Lady Bird).
Elle Fanning (Sentimental Value, All the Bright Places), Dakota Fanning (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2), Edmund Donovan (Tell Me Lies, Gossip Girl), Albrecht Schuch (All Quiet on the Western Front, Fabian; Going to the Dogs), Douglas Hodge (A Grand Romantic Gesture, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan: Ghost War), Gwilym Lee (A Song for Jenny, The Last Witness), Mark Rylance (Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light, The Trial of the Chicago 7), Shira Hass (Captain America: Brave New World, A Tale of Love and Darkness) and Vinette Robinson (The Thing with Feathers, The Pod Generation) make up the cast of The Nightingale. The film is an adaptation of the best-selling novel written by Kristin Hannah (The Great Alone, The Four Winds) and production is already starting. Michael Morris (Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, The Man in the Iron Mask) directs. The screenwriter is Dana Stevens (Life or Something Like It, For Love of the Game).

The Nightingale focuses on Isabelle Rossignol and Vivianne Mauriac navigating World War II with Isabelle rebelling and Vivianne being alert.
