Searchlight Pictures just dropped the trailer for its star-studded thriller, The Menu. Anya Taylor-Joy and Nicholas Hoult star as a young couple that travels to a coastal island to dine at a highly exclusive restaurant, where the chef (Ralph Fiennes) has prepared a lavish menu, but that’s just the appetizer.
The couple, along with 10 other guests must guess the overarching theme of their many-coursed meal, as Hoult’s character says of Fiennes’s chef, “He’s not just a chef, he’s a storyteller.”
However, the night grows stranger as Taylor-Joy spots weird activity in the nearby woods and the guests are served food-pictures of themselves, which one guest notes is “not good.” It doesn’t end there as someone gets shot and another guest is stabbed.
The trailer ends in a scene reminiscent of The Most Dangerous Game as the staff now hunt the guests fighting for their lives in a night full of murder and mayhem.
The film also stars John Leguizamo (John Wick: Chapter 2), Judith Light (Who’s the Boss?), Hong Chau (Downsizing).
The Menu is produced by Adam McKay (Don’t Look Up, The Big Short), directed by Mark Mylod (Succession, Shameless, Game of Thrones) and written by Mill Tracy of Succession and Seth Reiss. It looks like the most intense season of Hell’s Kitchen yet.
The Menu hits theaters November 18.
