‘The Marvels’ And ‘Haunted Mansion’ Change Release Dates

Instead of coming out on its original release date, July 28th, The Marvels, the sequel to Captain Marvel, has been pushed back to November 10th. The film will star Brie Larson, Teyonal Parris, and Iman Vellani. Nia Dacosta will also direct it.

Besides its sequel status regarding Captain Marvel, it is expected to bring together aspects from a few Marvel series on Disney+, such as WandaVision and Ms. Marvel. From these two series, Monica Rambeau (Parris) and Kamela Khan (Vellani), respectively, are set to join Carol Danvers (Larson), though what they will be joining her for is not necessarily known. The lack of information regarding the plot previously confused fans, but with the film being pushed back, perhaps the secrecy is warranted.

In the meantime, fans have been left with a new poster depicting the three superheroes separate yet united. They are each given their own spotlight through the colors blue, purple, and orange.

Taking The Marvels initial release date is the long-awaited Haunted Mansion based on the Disney theme park ride.

Some might remember the release of The Haunted Mansion in 2003, starring Eddy Murphy, which was also based on the Disney attraction. While the film is placed today for its nostalgia, it did not fulfill Disney’s expectation for a film of one of its most popular attractions. As early as 2010, there was confirmation of Guillermo del Torro’s role as a writer for the new film that was meant to reboot this cinematic franchise, but that never came to fruition.

The highly anticipated film contains a star-studded cast including Jamie Lee Curtis, Owen Wilson, Jared Leto, Winona Ryder, Danny DeVito, Rosario Dawson, Dan Levy, LaKeith Stanfield, and Tiffany Haddish.
