While Star Wars Celebration continues the franchise festivities over in Japan, many have taken to commenting on the new projects announced. Among these is the leading member of The Mandalorian & Grogu, Pedro Pascal himself.

Pascal is responsible for playing Din Djarin, the titular Mandalorian bounty hunter from the Disney+ series. Known for his record of bringing in countless bounties, Din turns rogue when he comes across a small alien child who will be used for experiments against his will. After forming a bond with the child, Din throws everything he’s built on the line to protect the child as he grows up in a ruthless galaxy.

The Mandalorian & Grogu is one of many projects shown at this year’s Star Wars Celebration, with the director, producer, and actors turning up to discuss the new adventure.

While conversing with Extra, Pascal didn’t mince words when it came to how director Jon Favreu managed to bring Mando and Grogu from TV screens to theater screens.

“I think Jon Favreau is a genius, and the way that it has evolved from a special cinematic experience that was episodic and that you could experience in your own home, the way that they nailed that kind of special, special viewing experience is exactly as grand as it’s gonna be,” he said, according to ScreenRant

The Fantastic Four: First Steps star even went on to compare it to the scale of the original Star Wars, which many fans hold in high regard.

The Mandalorian & Grogu hits theaters 2026.
