‘The Hunt For Ben Solo’ Campaign Draws Star Wars Sequel Trilogy Stars Back Into The Conversation

Recent fan lobbying for an Adam Driver-led Star Wars project directed by Steven Soderbergh has led to galactic forces pulling some old actors into the fold.  John Boyega and Oscar Isaac, who played Finn and Poe Dameron in the sequel trilogy, were recently questioned about their interest in returning to a future Star Wars project.

Boyega was recently queried at Liverpool Comic Con about his interest in returning to work with Disney.

It has to be a movie and obviously a great script. And I already spoke to Joonas today and said Joonas, you must join Poe and Finn on their adventure. So if I get those combinations, who knows.

Boyega also pointed out that he would be interested in appearing with Joonas Suotamo’s Chewbacca in another film.  The trio appeared in each installment of the sequel trilogy that spanned from 2015 to 2019.  With Boyega himself already dismissing the idea of appearing on Disney+ in the past, the silver screen is where he’d want his story to continue.

The idea of a Star Wars reunion has been floated to Isaac in various appearances and interviews for years.  The actor had been dismissive for a long time, and a few years ago said he’d return to his role as Poe Dameron, “If I need another house or something.”  More recently, Isaac has backtracked and hinted at there potentially being a shape for a reunion, although that may be on hold due to his political disagreements with the Mouse House. Nevertheless, at this point in time, neither party has given a definitive no to returning to the Star Wars Galaxy. Be sure to stay tuned to MXDXN for updates.
