It was recently announced that director Darren Aronofsky would be teaming up with Oscar winners Jennifer Lawrence (Silver Linings Playbook) and Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men) for his next film project. Aronofsky has received critical acclaim on several occasions for the incredible acting performances that he cultivates on screen.
Natalie Portman took home the Oscar for Best Actress in Black Swan (2010), Mickey Rourke and Marisa Tomei were both nominated for their roles in The Wrestler (2008) and veteran Oscar-winning actress Ellen Burstyn was also nominated for her chilling performance in Requiem for Dream (2000).
Aronofsky continues to push the boundaries of filmmaking with the controversial subject matter that is presented in all his movies. His films can only be described as beautifully disturbing explorations of human nature, which are often unsettling and painful to watch.
This is Aronofsky’s 7th feature film and will center on a couple whose relationship is tested when uninvited guests arrive at their home, disrupting their tranquil existence; the film is currently untitled. Both Lawrence and Bardem have already proven their ability to perform on screen. Perhaps having two Oscar winners on board will give Aronofsky the creative leverage that he needs to take home an Academy Award for Best Director in the future.
