‘The Drama’ Already Receives Rotten Tomatoes Scores Pre-Release

According to Screenrant, The Drama has received an 84% critics score with 38 reviews—- 32 being positive and 6 leaning towards the negative side. The film stars Zendaya (Spiderman: Homecoming, Shake It Up) and Robert Pattinson (Twilight, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire) and will premier on April 3. 

Screenrant recently released a The Drama Review written by Alex Harrison that gave the film a 9 out of 10 ranking. The review mentions that the film is thrilling, funny & much more than its twist” and highlights the star’s chemistry and how they portray their characters and emotions in the trailer. Empire Magazine writer Emma Stefansky gave a shout out to Kristoffer Borgli for subtly dropping the major reveal and how the eye of the film is how the characters navigate after finding out. San Francisco Chronicle writer G. Allen Johnson stated that the film centers around Zendaya and how it’s her film. 

The Hollywood Reporter review written by Richard Lawson stated that the film has no structure and describes it as a “handsomely made, sharply performed letdown.” The Daily Beast’s Nick Shagee stated that the film appears to be a “tone-deaf joke that won’t end.”

The A24 film centers around Charlie Thompson (Pattinson) and Emma Harwood (Zendaya) navigating their relationship and potential marriage after Emma shares a secret. The reviews will most likely waver throughout the week before, during and after its initial release.
