The Day The Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie is causing hijinks as it is about to reach its first box office milestone after the second week of its run, Collider reports.

Released on March 14th, the animated comedy follows the classic duo of Daffy Duck and Porky Pig as they accidentally uncover an alien invasion plot while trying to save their family home. In its opening weekend, it grossed $3.1 million domestically and $840,000 internationally, nearly $4 million total, placing at #5 on the box office charts and outpacing other family fare such as Paddington In Peru and Dog Man.

While losing steam in its second weekend, grossing $1.8 million domestically and $2.2 million internationally, the film has now grossed a combined $8.7 million. It is likely to reach $10 million later this week, within sight of its total budget of $15 million.

Despite The Day The Earth Blew Up‘s bumpy road at the box office, the Looney Tunes may return to the big screen once again as the film’s distributor, Ketchup Entertainment is currently in talks with Warner Bros. Discovery on acquiring the shelved Coyote Vs. Acme for around $50 million.

Directed by Peter Browngardt with voice actors Eric Bauza and Candi Milo leading the cast, The Day The Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie is currently in theaters.
