FKA Twigs, the British singer and dancer has been cast as the co-star alongside Bill Skarsgard in the upcoming reimagining and reboot of a supernatural revenge thriller, The Crow directed by Rupert Sanders. Skarsgard, who played Pennywise in the remake of the classic horror franchise It is toplining the project, which has seen many different interactions and close calls amid years of development.
The Crow originates from the indie 1980s comic written and drawn by James O’Barr surrounding the dark story of a man and his fiance who are assaulted and killed by a gang after their car breaks down. The man is brought back to life by a crow and enacts revenge on those who killed him and the love of his life.
Twigs has been cast as the fiancé, a role that was not significant in the original film. Sources allude to a bigger part of the film for this role in the reimagining, leaning into a co-lead. Due to plot details remaining under wraps, it is unclear if the character never quite dies or perhaps returns in a supernatural form, maybe even a representation of the crow itself.
Victor Hadid, Molly Hassell, John Jecks, and Edward R. Pressman will produce with Dan Farah as the executive producer. The Crow is set to begin production and shooting in June in Prague and Munich.
