Florence Pugh (“Miss Flo”) mentioned during a Oppenheimer panel that her and co-star Cillian Murphy (Peaky Blinders) had an awkward incident during the shooting for their sex scene. The star was one of the few moderators at the panel including Emily Blunt and Jamie Dornan.

In Oppenheimer, Pugh plays Jean Tatlock, the love interest of Murphy’s character J. Robert Oppenheimer. In the film, Oppenheimer is married to Kitty Oppenheimer, played by Emily Blunt, but engages in an affair with Florence Pugh’s character, Jean. 

Pugh continues on to mention what happened during the steamy scene saying, “Our camera broke when we were both naked, and it was not ideal timing.” The problem wasn’t so easily solved because there weren’t any available cameras to replace the current one. Someone was sent in to repair the camera. Pugh recalled both of them wrapping their bodies in the close set waiting for the fix.

Despite the mishap on set, Pugh spoke fondly of her time on set saying, “It was just crazy that every person on this set was so knowledgeable and was so ready to make this kind of a movie that there was no dull moment. It was all amazing. It felt like we were lucky to be there every second of the day.” 

Oppenheimer received 13 Oscar nominations, and Cillian Murphy was nominated for his first Oscar for his role in “Oppenheimer ” playing alongside Florence Pugh.
