The long weekend comes to a close with some surprising box office numbers. Venom the Last Dance continues to sit at the top of the box office with the battle for second being an extremely close call between the premieres for Heretic and The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.
Unfortunately Hugh Grant and the Christmas spirit were unable to squeak by Venom’s 16 million weeken addrion to take the top spot instead second going to Christmas Pageant over Heretic with Deadline attributing it to a marketing campaign difference and the possibility audiences were in the mood more for family films as the holiday approaches.
Despite major social media movements to get both films exposed to the general public it wasn’t enough to put them over the top of Venom: The Last Dance. Leading to a very close call with both earning 11 million and second with that very small margin going to Christmas Pageant. With positive critic response to Heretic though it has possibility of making it on through to the award season as taste shift towards more art house film as Oscars season approaches
In 4th The Wild Robot continues to dominate as the animated choice totaling in at 137 million in its 7th week hanging on to the charts. Beating out Smile 2 in its fourth week still compared to Wild Robots seven weeks in theaters. In fifth is Conclave which has landed into the sixth spot and racks up a current total of 22 million total in its against its budget of 20 million in its third week helping push it further along to profitably. Much of the talk around conclave has been Oscar Buzz for its intense drama This certainly helps its case in staying relevant for the incoming awards season
Things start winding down as in 7th Anora lands at 2.5 million for its fourth week contributing to its 7.2 million total.
The eighth spot went to Here which dropped all the way to a total of 2.4 million for its hual of 9.5 million and a long way to go to put itself back in the black.
We Live In Time snags itself the ninth place as at 5 weeks it’s run starts to draw to a close with 2.2 million for its total of 22 million.
Sitting in the tenth spot Art the Clown of Terrifier 3 reclines and gets ready to wrap up his fun with a little 1.5 million more in his pocket for a grand total of 53 million after only 5 weeks and having dominated the top of the charts before Venom made himself at home.
