Upcoming horror film The Autopsy Of Albert Kemper has just found one of its leading ladies. Alexandra Shipp will join the cast, alongside several other talents already signed on to appear.
As the title would suggest, The Autopsy Of Albert Kemper deals with the body of a recently deceased man left in a morgue awaiting an autopsy. But when one of the workers discovers strange tendencies from the body, a normal shift turns into something beyond a nightmare.
Shipp is slated to play the morgue worker who has the unfortunate experience with the body. Some of Shipp’s previous work includes Anyone But You, Barbie, and Straight Out Of Compton, as well as playing Storm in several of the later X-Men movies.
Playing opposite Shipp, in the role of Kemper’s body, is horror icon David Howard Thornton. Although he has several horror titles to his name, Thornton is far and away most well known for his headlining work in the Terrifier films, where he plays the antagonistic Art the Clown.
Upon reporting on Shipp’s casting, Deadline noted that the film, directed by David Benullo, draws heavily from a rather unusual urban legend. It focuses around notorious serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer’s death, after he was killed in prison. The legend states that, although already dead, authorities made sure to handcuff the lifeless body to the gurney in fear that it would still show some signs of activity.
