Paramount has set a release date for The Angry Birds Movie 3. Taking over distribution from Sony Pictures Entertainment, which distributed the previous two movies, Paramount will release the third installment of the film franchise based on the popular mobile game series on Jan. 29, 2027. The film will be produced by Rovio Entertainment, creator of the Angry Birds series, and Sega, which purchased Rovio in 2023.

Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Danny McBride, and Rachel Bloom will all return for this third installment. In addition, this third film will feature a new voice cast consisting of Emma Myers, Keke Palmer, and Tim Robinson. Other new additions to the voice cast include Lily James, Marcello Hernandez, Walker Scobell, and Sam Richardson.

John Rice, the director of the first Angry Birds Movie, will return to direct this third film, which will be produced by John Cohen, Dan Chuba, and Carla Connor. Thurop Van Orman, the director of the second movie, will write the script.

Prime Focus, in partnership with Flywheel Media and One Cool Group, is producing alongside Rovio and Sega. Paramount Pictures will handle the global distribution rights.

This new installment comes off the back of the previous two installments, which were decent successes at the box office. The first Angry Birds Movie grossed $352 million globally, not adjusted for inflation. In comparison, the second grossed a smaller but impressive $147.8 million, making for a total worldwide gross of $500 in total box office grossing.
