Critics Choice-winner Noah Emmerich of The Americans and Fear the Walking Dead’s Kim Dickens have signed on to Netflix’s upcoming thriller The Good Nurse, Deadline reports. Already set to play the starring roles are Oscar-nom Jessica Chastain, Oscar-winner Eddie Redmayne and actor-producer Nnamdi Asomugha.
The flick will mark the English-language, feature-length debut of Dannish director Tobias Lindholm. The filmmaker has an impressive resume including two Oscar-nominated films, A War (2016) which he wrote and directed and Another Round (2021) starring Mads Mikkelsen which he co-wrote. He is also the showrunner on HBO Max Denmark’s The Investigation (2021).
Adapted by Krysty Wilson-Cairns, The Good Nurse is based on the novel of the same title by Charles Graeber. It recounts the true story of Charlie Cullen (Redmayne), a nurse who became one of the most prolific serial-killers in American history before being brought to justice by one of his coworkers.
Noah Emmerich is well known for his role as FBI agent Stan Beemanon in FX’s The Americans, for which he earned a SAG award for Best Ensemble. He also featured in the Netflix miniseries The Spy alongside Sasha Baron Cohen and Space Force with Steve Carell.
Kim Dickens who plays Madison Clark on AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead also had recurring roles on HBO’s Treme and Deadwood, Netflix’s House of Cards and Sons of Anarchy on FX. She has had feature roles in Gone Girl and Robin Wright’s debut film Land. Dickens can be seen next acting alongside Joey King in Paramount+’s The In Between.
Producing The Good Nurse are Protozoa Pictures’ Scott Franklin and Darren Aronofsky as well as FilmNation Entertainment.
