Thai Creature Horror ‘Halabala’ Set to Release In 2025

A new creature horror titled Halabala is scheduled to be released at the upcoming American Film Market (AFM) annual event. The film tells the story of a police officer who is posted in the Hala Bala Forest. When a notorious criminal escapes, the officer joins forces with an armed squad and a psychic medium to give chase. Despite ominous warnings, the group must travel deeper into the forest to apprehend the dangerous fugitive.

The film is being shot in the Hala Bala Forest, which is a rainforest and wildlife sanctuary located in Southern Thailand on the border of Malaysia. Set to be launched by Singapore’s Mokster Films, this Thai feature is the solo directorial debut for Eakasit Thairaat. Thairaat is known for co-directing series such as Terror Tuesday: Extreme and The Collector on Netflix.

Halabala stars ‘Ter’ Chantavit Dhanasevi and is produced by BrandThink Cinema. Details about the previously mentioned creature are unknown at this time. The publicity photo shows an injured man, pointing a gun at a seemingly harmless woman in a white dress. This scene appears to take place in a forest, with trees in the background. Halabala is expected to be released in the second quarter of 2025.
