‘Terrifier 3’ Star Lauren LaVera Joins Cast Of New Horror Film From ‘Saw’ Director

Lauren LaVera, known for her role as Sienna Shaw in Terrifier 3, has been cast in an upcoming horror thriller titled The Monster. Directed by Darren Lynn Bousman, known for his work on multiple Saw films, and produced by Saw franchise veteran Mark Burg, the film promises to bring fresh twists to the genre. LaVera will star alongside acclaimed actor Djimon Hounsou, though her specific role has not yet been disclosed.

Terrifier 3 has been a box office phenomenon, grossing $43.8 million on a modest $2 million budget. LaVera’s performance as Sienna Shaw has drawn significant praise, helping cement her rising status in horror cinema. Deadline recently reported on her new role, signaling that her recent work has caught the attention of prominent horror filmmakers.

The plot of The Monster follows two young scammers who lease luxury apartments they don’t actually own, only to discover that one of the real apartment owners harbors a dark secret. Filming is set to begin in November in Danbury, Connecticut, with a screenplay by Jonathan Bernstein and James Greer.

Bousman, who directed Saw films as well as recent horrors like Death of Me and The Cello, is excited to bring a fresh horror experience to audiences. With Burg co-producing alongside Envision Media Arts’ Lee Nelson and David Tish, the film promises strong backing and a high production standard.

LaVera’s inclusion in The Monster underscores her expanding presence in horror, following her success in Terrifier 3 and a recent role in Mike Flanagan’s adaptation of Stephen King’s The Life of Chuck. As she continues to secure roles in major horror projects, LaVera’s path suggests she could soon be a prominent name in the genre.

The choice of LaVera and Hounsou, along with Bousman’s direction, hints at a tense thriller. While it’s unknown if The Monster will echo the extreme gore associated with Terrifier and Saw, horror fans can expect plenty of suspense and mystery in this intriguing new project.
