Tensions Rise, Gunfights Aplenty as an Unlikely Team Unites in New Trailer for ‘The Hitman’s Bodyguard’

Samuel L. Jackson and Ryan Reynolds are an unlikely pair to fight off assassins trailing their every move in the upcoming film The Hitman’s Bodyguard, which is scheduled to be released on August 18th. Directed by Patrick Hughes (The Expendables 3) and written by Tom O’Connor (Fire with Fire), the thriller shows off stellar action sequences and some witty dialogue in its second newly release trailer.

The plot is fairly simple as a bodyguard (Reynolds) has to transport an assassin (Jackson) to testify at trial to take down a dictator (Gary Oldman). What ensues is gunfights, car chases, hand-to-hand combat, and laughs galore. The film also stars Salma Hayek (Sausage Party) and Elodie Yung (Daredevil). The script for the film was on the 2011 Black List of the best un-produced scripts and is being distributed by Lionsgate Studios.

Rick Rice: A kid at heart who has loved watching movies from a very young age. Credit must be given to Siskel and Ebert whose film reviews educated me on the world of film inspired me to become a writer myself. I love to read books that range from various topics, copious amounts of research is something that excites me and of course sitting in a movie theater is a highlight of my life. When I'm not watching movies or reading I enjoy listening to foreign music and working hard on finishing my short stories. Currently working on my degree in English with a plan to enroll into Film School with the dream of becoming a screenwriter and director.
