A teaser trailer has surfaced for London Has Fallen, the action-packed sequel to 2013’s Olympus Has Fallen. Gerard Butler (300) again plays Secret Service Agent Mike Banning, who finds himself across the pond guarding the US President (Aaron Eckhart, also returning from the original) and other world leaders at the funeral of the British Prime Minister.
Explosions rock London in the trailer, destroying national landmarks, while an ominous version of “London Bridge Is Falling Down” plays in the background. Butler’s Banning joins forces with an MI6 agent played by Charlotte Riley to try to keep the President and the rest of the leaders of the free world safe from a terrorist onslaught.
Morgan Freeman (5 Flights Up), Melissa Leo (the upcoming Snowden), and Angela Bassett will reprise their roles from the original. Babak Najafi is directing from a script by Creighton Rothenberger, Katrin Benedikt, and Chad St. John. The film is set for a January 22, 2016 release. Check out the trailer below.
