Taylor Swift Announces Theatrical Release Party Event For New Album, ‘The Life Of A Showgirl’

Taylor Swift will be bringing her songs back to the big screen with a release party for her new album in October, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The music superstar’s first theatrical event, a concert film of her 2023 The Eras Tour, arrived to critical acclaim, with 98% Fresh Rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and became the highest-grossing concert film of all time, earning over $260 million worldwide. Swift funded the $15 million project herself, making a deal with AMC Theatres to release it, after talks with Hollywood studios fell through.

Now Swift and AMC are teaming up once again to celebrate the release of the singer’s new album, The Life of a Showgirl, with a special screening. Titled The Official Release Party of A Showgirl, the 89-minute film will consist of the world premiere of the music video The Fate of Ophelia, behind-the-scenes footage of its making, lyric videos for other songs, and, for the first time, personal reflections from Swift about those songs.

The event is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET on October 3rd, the same day as the album’s release, and will run through October 5th, with at least four showtimes per day. Tickets are $12 and went on sale at 12:12 p.m. ET on Sept. 19, in honor of The Life of a Showgirl being Swift’s 12th album.

Swift announced the film via her Instagram account on Friday.

Screenings for Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl will also be available at non-AMC theaters. Further info can be found at releasepartyofashowgirl.com.
