Osgood Perkins’ upcoming film The Young People has begun fleshing out its ensemble cast. The film, which previously announced Nico Parker and Lola Tung as the leads, will now feature more seasoned actors in supporting roles. The full announced cast consists of Brendan Hines, Cush Jumbo, Heather Graham, Johnny Knoxville, Lexi Minetree, Lily Collias and Tatiana Maslany. Plot details are few at this point, but Osgood Perkins will serve as writer and director.
The Young People will be distributed by Neon, making this the fourth collaboration between Perkins and Neon. They released Longlegs last year, becoming one of the biggest horror successes of the year. This year, they released the King adaptation The Monkey and are releasing Perkins’ next film, Keeper, this November. This is their first collaboration under his new banner, Phobos. The deal has Neon distributing all films directed or produced by Perkins. Both Longlegs and The Monkey were financial successes for Neon, and it seems like they will continue partnering with Oz Perkins for quite some time.
The Young People has no release window as of yet, but expect a theatrical run for the film. It has not begun filming quite yet, but the script has been completed. Stay tuned for more updates on the film.
